Cleaning guide
How to look after a dance vinyl floor.
Daily
- Sweep and dry mop with a soft-bristle broom to remove dirt and grit
- No harsh bristles or abrasive tools on vinyl or timber
- Check students and visitors are in suitable footwear
- Check the tap screws
Weekly
- Wash with Sadie Suds diluted as directed, in a figure-8 pattern
- Rinse thoroughly with clean water to prevent residue build-up
- Let the floor dry completely before use
Spot cleaning
- Scuffs and tap-shoe residue: Dirty Di or a citrus-based spot cleaner, used with care
- Rinse with Sadie Suds and dry to protect the finish
- A tennis ball or artificial chamois shifts stubborn marks by hand
- Never use household polishes, waxes, oils or solvents
What can I use instead of rosin on a slippery floor?
Rozzie is a wash-on grip treatment that turns slip to grip on vinyl, timber, tiles and JuJu-finished floors without the mess and residue of liquid rosin.
Which tape do I use to join dance vinyl?
Use a dance-floor-specific joining tape for portable floors and the right double-sided tape for semi-permanent installations. General-purpose tapes can leave residue or damage the vinyl. STM supplies compatible tapes with New Zealand vinyl orders.
Can cleaners be shipped to New Zealand?
Yes. Floor cleaners and treatments are among the products STM regularly ships to NZ. Some liquids have carrier restrictions, so STM will confirm the freight method and pack sizes with your quote.
